...put your money where your big mouth is...or did Jesus only care about Americans.

Increasing numbers of children in Iraq do not have enough food to eat and more than a quarter are chronically undernourished, a UN report says.
Some 17,000 children die every day from hunger-related diseases, the report claims, which it says is a scandal in a world which is richer than ever before.

WTF?
Hey, enough with the anti-Americanisms... it's sickening.
Oh, the UN should know. "Oil for Food" scandal anyone?
KA conveniently had some papers shredded and now he is not culpable for anything...even his son's indiscresions. $400k for him and $20,0000,000 for the company he works for from the UN... That is the only part of the investigation that has taken hold.
That is like investigating and prosecuting OJ for blowing red lights, not the murders...
They would have had FOOD if it were not for the DIC-tator who dealt with the UN to the tune of 67 BILLION dollars.
Finally,
What the heck does Jesus / Americans / and Starving Children in Iraq have to do with one another?

Quite possibly the most most ignorant and bigoted post I have read in these fora.

Any American who wants to believe the US has the moral high ground on dealing with Iraq must suffer from a rather drastic case of long-term memory loss.

Ya but everyone in Iraq is a terrorist remember?
And yes budster101 comment was rather sick. What I would expect from a Christian extremist for sure.

Blaming the US for Iraq isnt anti-Americanisms, the US armed iraq to fight iran, the US bombed iraq in 1991 and took out its water, power, and everything else that a society needs. The US put the trade embargo up which only hurt the citizens not Saddam. The US invaded the country again in 2003 and took out its government, and control and its current state is a direct result of a illegal US war. Thats not anti-Americanisms, thats opinions about the current situation which was caused by Washington and there war policies.
But ya this is just another stupid post
"What the heck does Jesus / Americans / and Starving Children in Iraq have to do with one another?" NOTHING!

Moderator,
I would appreciate it if you would scan your receipts showing all of us how much money you've contributed to the various funds and charities accepting aid for those in Iraq. Lead us by your example.
Until then, please quit being an idiot.

Which UN resolution was it that called for economic sanctions against Saddam? Almost all of them??? Economic sanctions resulted in thousands of deaths to starvation. Why the concern now? Could it be there is a little nut-shell game going on here? I believe so.
I can understand having a problem with US foreign policy and the indictments against the US are mostly accurate I'll admit. Well, except the one stating this was an illegal war. When you threaten "severe consequences for non-compliance"; any International body worth it's weight in salt should adhere to the promise otherwise it's another empty threat to be taken advantage of. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. It's questionable to be sure, but it's gotten the US out of many a sticky jam. There is no right answer in this world guys.
Why a moderator would try to bring Jesus into this is beyond me. Suffice it to say he has failed to make any kind of connection here. Whether you agree with our actions or not, there are billions in american tax dollars being spent in Iraq. How 'bout someone else step up? How much have you donated Millenium? Nothing? Well, at least you're not in conflict with your lack of faith or any secular humanist tenet or doctrine. I guess in your case then it's acceptable to do NOTHING? Ironic how you'd expect more from a Christian than the rest of society.

I thought Saddam's mighty rule was toppled in your quest for liberation. Happened awhile ago if I recall correctly. But I guess scouring the sand hills for WMD and shooting Iraq citizens (sorry "terrorists") got in the way of the "liberation" of the Iraqi people.

Not nearly as effectively as we've been killing them much to your shagrin. Just like the Nazi regime. It will eventually be rendered to petty criminals trying to get a say with no avail.

No side-stepping -- we're stil anxoiusly awaiting Moderator to show us the receipts for all the charitable donations he's made to the Iraqi "victims". He must have tons and tons of them to scan and that's why he hasn't come back to post anything.
Right?
I mean, surely he wouldn't pop-off at the mouth saying "If you really want to emulate Jesus put your money where your big mouth is...or did Jesus only care about Americans" and not be able to show us how much he has done on this front.
Right?
Right?
He wouldn't be a hypocrite like those Jesus Followers™ are, would he?

I worked with many of those hipoctite Jesus followers.
In fact nex month I'm flying a plane load of them to Honduras to for free. Where they will render aid for free. Medical attention for free Construction projects for free. I will spend my vacation helping others. While some here can only bitch on a computer to an electronic audiance thinking they can change the world. How pompus. How arrogant.
How pathetic.

Truthfully I was just being a snot....ws just bothering me that the fundamentalists in power will make attempts to implement a theocracy in the name of a Christ while encouraging malnourishment, discrimination, class divisions, war etc. etc.
To me Christianity ought to be about the life Jesus lead, not about the man or the name. He was no different then any of us other than that he chose to live a life without compromise. He wouldn't have wanted to be worshipped..he wouldn't have wanted his name invoked..in fact we ought to just forget the name Jesus altogether.
There have likely been millions of Jesus' out there, many lived and died and we'll never know about them. They aren't special except that they fulfilled a potential we all have.
I suppose I was frustrated that the powers that be are willing to turn the spirit of the constitution upside down to keep this poor woman alive (against the wishes of the man she chose to speak for her, and thus against her wishes) while there's an epidemic we caused in Iraq and elsewhere that will go completely unnoticed.
And no I don't think I have the courage to live without compromising my selfish wants..I've thought alot about it and have a friend who finaly said..f^ck it..and is doing it. It takes balls boy.
I do know better than to invoke the name of a man I'll never live up to, in order to pass judgement on people...as if I were any better. And the thing is, when you meet someone who does have the credibility to throw stones, like my friend, you'll see they just wouldn't do it.
..was just frustrated my apologies

100% silly.

Yes, the Bible even says so. They are called false prophets.

I'm neither a Christian nor an Extremist. I'm just using the same language he uses against religous people, and he doesn't get it. That's the joke.

A. what I said was we all have the potential to live like Jesus, he was great because he fullfilled that potential where most of us will not.
B. Do you really believe that Jesus wanted to be worshipped? You believe he would have been pleased to see a huge cross with his likeness hanging at the front of a church. What does that have to do with what he stood for. What does his name have to do with what he stood for.
I think he wanted his life to be an example not an end. And by continuously invoking the name people gloss over the actual life he lead, which is whats important imo
C. False Prophet? What would be false about a person who made the choice to give up everything and live a pure selfless life. Why would you choose to attack him when you could instead respect and admire him (or her). I'm sure Jesus was called a false prophet as well...by people who are too caught up in tradition to see what right in front of thier eyes.
I feel that anyone who has the courage to live this pure life will be living according to Jesus' example..isn't that what its all about?

So important in fact that you'd invoke his name for nothing more than to make a senseless political argument on an internet forum? Spare me.
