Bush's Obscene Tirades Rattle White House Aides
By DOUG THOMPSON
While President George W. Bush travels around the country in a last-ditch effort to sell his Iraq war, White House aides scramble frantically behind the scenes to hide the dark mood of an increasingly angry leader who unleashes obscenity-filled outbursts at anyone who dares disagree with him.
“I’m not meeting again with that goddamned b?tch,” Bush screamed at aides who suggested he meet again with Cindy Sheehan, the war-protesting mother whose son died in Iraq. “She can go to hell as far as I’m concerned!”
Bush, administration aides confide, frequently explodes into tirades over those who protest the war, calling them “motherf?cking traitors.” He reportedly was so upset over Veterans of Foreign Wars members who wore “bullsh?t protectors” over their ears during his speech to their annual convention that he told aides to “tell those VFW assholes that I’ll never speak to them again is they can’t keep their members under control.”
White House insiders say Bush is growing increasingly bitter over mounting opposition to his war in Iraq. Polls show a vast majority of Americans now believe the war was a mistake and most doubt the President’s honesty.
“Who gives a flying f?ck what the polls say,” he screamed at a recent strategy meeting. “I’m the President and I’ll do whatever I goddamned please. They don’t know sh?t.”
Bush, whiles setting up for a photo op for signing the recent CAFTA bill, flipped an extended middle finger to reporters. Aides say the President often “flips the bird” to show his displeasure and tells aides who disagree with him to “go to h?ll” or to “go f?ck yourself.” His habit of giving people the finger goes back to his days as Texas governor, aides admit, and videos of him doing so before press conferences were widely circulated among TV stations during those days. A recent video showing him shooting the finger to reporters while walking also recently surfaced.
Bush’s behavior, according to prominent Washington psychiatrist, Dr. Justin Frank, author of “Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President,” is all too typical of an alcohol-abusing bully who is ruled by fear.

On the one hand this seems far fetched. However, having seen video of his antics while governor of Texas, it's believable.

Hmmm, though the last part by the shrink made it sound like a Democratic spin.

Far be it for me to question the great Doug Thompson, but he doesn't even cite any sources who heard this supposed tirade.
And it's awfully hard to believe it's not got an angle to it when it starts out with "a last-ditch effort."
I have a feeling posting something like that is like posting something from Free Republic and setting it up as a real news article.

You're right, all the article says is '...administration aides confide...' That's why I had the disclaimer at the end of my post.
When you consider his former actions, as caught on camera, there is a belivability to the story, whether true or not. Admittedly the source is sketchy and the language incendiary. If true, it likely won't get out until after this term ends.
Funny it comes at a time when Republican lawmakers are distancing themselves from him due to the negative feelings about the war. They're all looking toward the next election and their prospects.

I'm gonna have to call bullsh*t on this one until I see something with actual credibility.

I'm not a Bush fan but I find this article hard to believe. I don't doubt he doesn't have a soft place in his heart for war protestors and probably has used profanity to refer to them but the rest just seem improbable - and in a White House were leaks are rewarded with public beheadings this is just too juicy to believe.
My assessment would be:
A. Bush probably does have a temper
B. He probably does yell at his aides and probably uses profanity at times
B1. Lots of bosses do - Steve Jobs comes to mind here
C. He's in a pressure cooker job, I'd cut him some slack for popping the cork every once in a while

Since Bush is NOT DRINKING ANYMORE I'd say it's either "BS" or a re-write for long ago.
I'd beleive it if I heard if from the editor of "The Hill" or some other reputable hill news source.

Actually, the rest of the article addresses that exact point:
Dr. Frank, in his book, speculates that Bush, an alcoholic who brags that he gave up booze without help from groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, may be drinking again.
But I agree: given the tone of the article (and the plug for Dr. Frank's book) I give it as much credibility as any of the "news" found on NewsMax.com. Clearly the left is no different from the right when it comes to rumor-mongering.

I thouroughly enjoyed the article when I stumbled on it a few days ago, and being the knee jerk yellow dog leftist liberal "dem that I am," even I decided against posting it here without corobboration...

I wouldn't just dismiss it as BS. I'm inclined to agree with RIRedinPA, he's certainly under a lot of stress and that can get to you. I'm not implying he needs medication, but it would certainly be an understandable reaction. Things aren't going well for him (approval ratings dropping and dropping, more pressure mounting from both chambers about the troops in Iraq, etc.).
So it could very well be the pressure is getting to him.

Ah, the days when the right could still rail on Kerry for chewing out an aide/bodyguard who was in his way while skiing during campaign time...
I'd say it's an indicator that the terrorists are winning: They must be hitting close to home if he's getting nervous...
