Lotfus incorrectly indentified the home of a terrorist, disrupted the lives of this family:
http://www.newshounds.us/2005/08/25/..._disrupted.php
Even if he correctly identified the house, why does he think this is the appropriate way to provide this information to the local police like he claims he wanted to do? Are we supposed to go on a head hunt ourselves? This is information for the police, and the police alone... not something to be broadcast on TV (which would give the terrorist lead time to move out or hide anyway). Not cool.
Some dumbasses also spraypainted "terrist" along the side of the house.
This stupidity just makes my blood boil.
There is an LA Times article reporting the same story, but it requires registration. I'm sure this story will get out, it occurred Sunday at 11:something AM.

I suppose this might be a more appropriate regular lounge story... move it if you want.

Give petty people just a little bit of power and watch how they misuse it! You can't silence the self doubt, can you?

This is pretty easy to verify.. it either occured on the air or it didn't. I'll just assume it did, a four year old reporter could verify *this* kind of story. Hopefully I'm not giving too much credit to the LATimes.

Seems like this is a "story" from a blog where the readership seems to want to find a reason to not like Fox News.
According to what it actually says, this guy was a guest, not a Fox employee.
Seems like if anything, this John Loftus guy would give an apology. But not Fox itself. They can't control what a guest says.

Loftus, whose "Inside Scoop with John Loftus" is a feature of Fox Network News television every Sunday at 11:20 AM, gave the family's address on the air,
This is what I read. If it didn't happen, fine. This seems pretty cut and dry though.
You're right that Loftus is not a Fox employee, but still, even if this was completely unexpected in advance, couldn't they have bleeped out what he was saying in realtime?

Besides, why the reactionary defense? Would it really upset you if it can be proven that this happened as stated? They're just a TV network.
