We can't PROVE Katrina was manmade, but the technology DOES exist. With this bill it will be legal for us to do such things in a month.

"Weather Modification"?? Hmmm....

(4) WEATHER MODIFICATION.--The term ``weather modification'' means changing or controlling, or attempting to change or control, by artificial methods the natural development of atmospheric cloud forms or precipitation forms which occur in the troposphere.

I think that research in this area could be beneficial, but I think there are various other steps that should be taken to reduce greenhouse gasses before we try and actually "control" the weather. We can barely predict it, what makes us think we can control it?

I would rather see the $10,000,000 a year till 2014 go to research/infrastructure for alternative energy resources.

Here's another mojo2 EYE OPENING possibility to consider.

Katrina MAY have been artificially induced. Man Made. We or the Russians might have done it.

When looking at the facts of this storm AND the government response, keep the possibility in the back of your mind to check the facts against.

I'm NOT saying it is and I'm not saying it isn't.

All I'm saying is that the technology is REAL. The legislation is here in S 517. Now, if you were given a wonderous new power to control WEATHER ITSELF, you'd TEST it, wouldn't you?

Just look at Katrina as though it were a test and see if any thing else about it seems consistent with the way a test would be conducted.
