Nazi Hunter Simon Wiesenthal Dead at 96

"Simon Wiesenthal, the Holocaust survivor who helped track down numerous Nazi war criminals following World War II then spent the later decades of his life fighting anti-Semitism and prejudice against all people, died Tuesday. He was 96."

Wiesenthal survived five concentration camps to lead a vibrant, exemplary effort against Jew-hatred primarily, as well as other manifestations of hate, and remained active into his 90s. Take some time to read through his stunning biography and to marvel over his outstanding fortitude and perseverance.

"The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground." TJ

analogika, thank you for saying so.

He will not soon be forgotten.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

"I have survived them all. If there were any left, they'd be too old and weak to stand trial today. My work is done."
- Simon Wiesenthal

Rest in peace sir.

To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid

That quote is so ironic. I can imagine some old ass nazi dancing a little Hitler jig calling out to his wife, "Hilda, I outlasted the bastard Wiesenthal!"

And then, once he thinks he's free from worry he eases up and then, BAM!

NAZI HUNTER, Simon Wiesenthal II swoops in and nabs him!

But the surprise is so great he dies of shock with a grimace on his face.

Like that of so many of their victims.

Not one moment of peace do they deserve.

Not revenge. Justice.
Give petty people just a little bit of power and watch how they misuse it! You can't silence the self doubt, can you?

It is so incredibly sad that he died but at the same time it is a joyous occasion in the sense that he is with God right now, in heaven that he so truly and richly deserve.

He was such an extraordinary man and he survive hate, cruelty...

Go in peace my Jewish brother.
