Give petty people just a little bit of power and watch how they misuse it! You can't silence the self doubt, can you?

I wish people would realize that "cheesy" does not equal "moving" and "powerful".

mojo, I have to ask. Where do you find all these Islamophobes you have been quoting lately? Kaveh Ahangar is serious Islamophobe. Amongst the things he promotes on his site are books like "Prophet of Doom". You better start checking your sources better.

But for the clip:

And a few questions.

1. Which part of Iranian society created the Islamic Republic of Iran?
2. Does every protest mean that the country is corrupt?
3. Does the use of force against a protest mean that the nation is corrupt?
4. Do you know what these students were protesting against?
5. What's up with the cheesy music?

To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid

All protests should forcebly be crushed.

All protesters sould be crushed under the treads of tanks.

Good for the Iranian government!

Oh, I don't know, it did suck in mojo.

I must say on a lighter note that combining Mel Gibson's Scottish accent with those pictures had the exact OPPOSITE effect than the one the "film" maker was going for. I found it quite comical, actually.

On a much lighter note, I have seen dorm rooms trashed worse than that after a frat party!

For those who could do without the cheese factor, here's an article from the BBC.

What happened to those students is just wrong from any sensible perspective. I don't care what religion you are...it's got nothing to do with Islamaphobia. But it has a lot to do with Islam...at least the modern practice of it....you know the one that subordinates its women. As i've said in another thread, God forbid a woman to look at another man, as she may be killed, or if she's lucky, just have her eyes gouged out. The response to those students is a sympton of the same malady: Fear of social evolution.

It's inevitable change will happen especially when freedoms are at stake...how long do you plan to fight it?

Yeah, von Wrangell, 95% of this post is directed at you.
