Ahahahahahahaha!

I saw the thread title, thought (while I was opening the page) that'd I'd write "because Republican women are hotter". And what do I see when the page is open?

Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.

While the other Republican women shown are reasonably attractive, Ann Coulter is quite suspect. First of all, the woman looks like a walking famine victim. On top of that, given that huge Adam's Apple she has I seriously wonder if "she" is really a man! Apparently I'm not the only one ....

To provide an opportunity to compare and contrast an attractive, prim First Lady Laura Bush with one who was alternately; a witch, a biotch and...hey, wait a minute. She doesn't look all THAT bad in this shot!

And in this pix (sorry, size limits!) you have an OBVIOUSLY excited Natalie Portman with an OBVIOUSLY excited Hillary. Hmmm....

Man, there are some awful pictures in there. Somebody chose very very carefully to find just the right unflattering pic. Nice work!

Just to spoil the joke even further, and because I was curious , I looked up the ages of the women in these pictures. The oldest of the Republican women is 58 (Laura Bush), while Helen Thomas is 85. The youngest Democrat is 52 (Susan Estrich), while the youngest Republican is only 35 (Michelle Malkin). Hell, one of of the Democrats died recently (Andrea Dworkin).

The median age difference between these two groups has to be about 20 years or so. Seems totally fair to me

And what exactly is THAT supposed to convey? A kind of coded message of some sort? A WARNING perhaps? It's quite out of context with the discussion and the thread topic.

Mods, please take note.

But, what if someone converted to Islam? Couldn't he count on Allah? Ooops, no..that's right. No VOTING allowed in Islam.

Aren't journalists supposed to be objective? Shouldn't their public personas be as neutral as positive? Obviously I have no problem with them holding personal opinions, but shouldn't they do their best to keep those out of their work? Why would any reporter (outside of the editorial columns) be known for being Democrat, Republicans, etc?

The days of objective journalism are long gone. At best they come across as neutral while reporting stories chosen to have a desired effect.

I guess the same goes with the looks.

Maybe Islamic News Agencies are better, especially if the spokeperson is hiding behind a piece of cloth...

As much as we can hide behind our good looks, so can we behind our speeches. I trust many reporters do their best to be as objective as possible, but it is certainly quite a challenge and slips must happen often.

In the end, this thread shows that politics has its perks. Looking good sells better in the mind of many. People attribute characteristics from their imagination to their candidates (or their party or their God) and having some female real estate in accordance to the taste and fashion of the times is always good. And this is further interesting when considering that women are also very sensitive and attracted to good looking women.

That never comes into political discussions, but clearly, consultants work on this all the time and it helps a great deal.

Interesting that a Republican should start a thread like this; I personally am not sure Liberals would have done that...

I mean, looks are superficial in political debate, right?

Spare me. The countless number of threads in which we've posted photos of the President to make him look ridiculous, on top of slanderous and unprecedented new lows in dishonesty coming from the media; i.e. BBS oops, the Bush/God story was a lie, oops I guess the documents are complete forgeries, and the list goes on and on... you're going to suppose to me that liberals have deemed something off limits due to civility? While it does not make it right, it is certainly not isolated to one side of the debate.

Besides, I always thought Hillary was kind of attractive.

People tend to like other people in their age group. When my wife turns sixty, I'll still love her, no matter her wrinkles or other imperfections that come with age. She won't be hot, I'll just passionately love her. Big difference.

Hot is a purely physical judgement to me, something that is not as important as strength of character, brains, charme, and all this.

And I don't think I was derogatory in my first post, but I stand by what I said. I find the woman in the middle, Peggy Noonan, a lot more attractive and charming than the first lady.

GSixZero,

It is well known that Monica worked for the Nixon administration, and as such it is near impossible for anyone to not look for a slant in her reporting. If you have seen her show, Connected, it is kind of setup they way CNN's old Crossfire was, without the competitiveness and yelling. Monica brings in conservative guests, and Reagan all the libs. It isnt a show that tries to hide either hosts' political views.
