I missed rule 8 so I will correct, gotta love the violent nature of some US communities. What does such a great nation such as the US still have problems more likely to be found in 3rd world countries. Is it the Rap culture?

Brian says (9:16 AM): I was looking at houses in Ottawa... I actually have a temptation in me to move
Jeff ******* says (9:19 AM): Eww, Ottawa is gross. It's infested with politicians, and presently, 1 Harper as well.

Umm, what's your point? What element of the original post are you responding to with these comments and the copied material from the WHOIS registry?
See, this is why we need rule #8. Here we've got somebody replying to a post and the reply makes as little sense as the original post.
Macrobat, If you want to make a point you need to tell us what point you think Athens is trying to make. When we never what logical angle you are approaching this from then we can adequately respond to your response to Athens.
Thanks!

The point is beyond obvious, officer.
The thread title says "The Model Society of the Grand US of A," then he links to a Dutch website. It's simply more of Athens' America-bashing, but he didn't check his facts.
Then we have you, the Forum Police, running around yelling about Rule #8. Seems to me that when a point is as obvious as mine was, it really becomes moot.

Good logic requires good arguments. All you needed to write was a simple declarative statement stating your beliefs in this matter. But you didn't. You simply wrote sarcasm and invective towards the poster.
Of course, if you had seen the content on the site you would have seen some Americans, in America, engaging in some very un-civic behavior. Just because the website is Dutch doesn't mean that the content on it does not relate to Americans.
So, two points to be made here. One, you can never be too explicit when engaged in a logical argument. Two, check your facts before making grand accusations that you support with "facts" of your own.

BS.
The site is Dutch. Which means that the premise for the site is Dutch. Just because "some Americans, in America" have posted "un-civic" behavior, joining in on the Dutch "un-civic" behavior, on the site does not constitute an indictment on American society.
Feel free to smoke those "facts" in your pipe, officer. Can I see your badge now?
Or, perhaps we should call you "professor," since you seem to choose to teach us "poor unwashed" the "right" way to do things.
I was unaware this site was un- (or under-) moderated enough that this sort of input was needed.

What relevance does the owner of the website have to do with the content on that site?
So, are you trying to state that only American websites can criticize American actions?
If we all assume Athens was posting to this link as a way of criticizing America then the site theoretically would have something to do with America on it. And guess what, it does. The link contains video footage of American citizens engaged in very un-civic action towards their fellow Americans.
So, what is your point again about the site being Dutch-owned? It is still not making any sense to me.

Um... is this supposed to be some sort of 'Only In America (tm)' thing?
From what little factual information was presented in this film, it appears that this is related to organized crime, where so-called 'rats' are dealt with just as severely as you see here. I am not attempting to condone the horrific acts depicted in this video. I am, however, questioning what makes this unique to America. Organized crime commits these kinds of atrocities everywhere it can be found, and it can be found in all nations: First or Third World, developing or developed, capitalist or communist.
Seriously, Athens; what point where you trying to make by posting this? Honestly; I can't tell.
Come to think of it, wouldn't the photographer be guilty of aiding and abeting the mob in this case, since he could have called for help but instead just sits and films? Who is more guilty: the one who is unaware of what's going on or the one who deliberately turns a blind eye in order to spread awareness?

There are no model country or society. Some countries are more suited for some people that does not mean that certain people can't find happiness in the country they are born to.
Even if the United States is a wonderful country it is not everybody's cup of tea.

You weren't "commenting" on anything at all, thus the Rule #8 complaints.

I once stood up to a mob who were threatening to bash some guy they had holed up. "You'll have to fight me too then" I declared, not knowing the guy was escaping out the back.
Then they turned on me. Lucky I can run fast.

He can be forgiven, he's Canadian, after all. He didn't realize what all the fuss was "aboot."
Not sure how a bunch of morons transaltes to US communities having "violent natures." I suggest you put down your stone, since Calgary proves you live in a glass house.
Let us not forget where the infamous Guns and Roses concert riot occurred, either. Instead of trying to constantly paint the United States as the bad guy, why can't you simply lament the violent nature of some human beings?
Of course, being honest wouldn't suit your obvious agenda too well, would it?

Again, you're being deliberately obtuse (paint me surprised).
The site does not criticize the behavior, it celebrates it. It happens to have some content containing Americans, but the premise of the site was obviously European in origin, not American. What happened is that you obviously only took the time to view the one video, rather than peruse the entire site, so you are ignorant of its celebratory nature.
