Oh jeez. Fox missed the fact that The Colbert Report is satire, but decided they needed their own comedic commentator anyway.

Screwed up the title. Rats.

I'm not sure why you're equating Colbert's parody (not so much satire, but parody is a more appropriate word) with Miller who delivers that which he believes, with a little bit of wittiness and honesty.

I don't think FOX for one minute believes they're hiring Miller to counter Colbert or Jon Stewart. I think they're probably of the mind that they're adding a contributor to the Hannity&Colmes show. At least in my market, H&C doesn't air at the same time as Colbert or Stewart.

I didn't claim it was about countering Colbert or Stewart.

You mentioned Colbert in the context of claiming "Fox... decided they needed their own comedic commentator anyway."

It sure sounds like that's what you claimed.

Read it again. I obviously meant imitating, not countering.

I remember when he tried to become a sports commentator.
What a disaster.
His witty comments were so far over the heads of the sports fans.
