On the way home, I was listening to CKNW 980 Radio talking about a massive (15 000+)Pro Hezbollah protest in Quebec. Lots of Hezbollah flags, lots of Anti Jew stuff and guess which major players supported it and where out during it, Andre Boisclair, leader of the Parti Quebecois, Gilles Deceppe of the Bloc. A few others that I didn't reconize but im sure some Quebecors would. They are so desperate for votes they are attempting to win over the Lebanese community. This is pathetic. I just hope Hez does not inspire another FLQ.

Have you come to a new understanding about the M.E. & the WoT, Athens?
Give petty people just a little bit of power and watch how they misuse it! You can't silence the self doubt, can you?

I'm betting they're all on some other forum shouting "allah akbar!" at each other. One which allows them to do so in a 72 point font.

I hate Jew haters as much as Islam haters and any other type of haters that hate just because something about them is not the same as themselves.

Our own left here is doing the same thing.
Cynthia McKinney is one.(you should have head her defeat speech)
And the democrats are vieing for the illegal immigrant vote.
All men are created equal, but what they do after that point puts them on a sliding scale.

I just hope Hez does not inspire another FLQ.

First of all, they were 15000 manifestants, and there are close to 7 million people in Quebec. So there is nothing wrong with Quebec so far.

Most manifestants protested against the killing of innocents.

Boisclair is an opportunist, and so is Duceppe, who are both in dire need of attention. Neither of these guys are fit to manage an "international file". They are very narrow minded indeed.

Regarding the people with Hezbollah flags, remember that everyone is allowed to manifest, and some opportunists were present as well. Those showing up with a mask only got reprobational looks and comments from people around. I heard clearly many say to these guys to take away their masks, from the crowd of manifestants, and from outside the crowd of manifestants. Those people were not welcome, and in the mind of many montrealers, these guys are not helping in anyway.

On the eve of this manifestation, an association regrouping Jews living in Quebec gave a clear message of of empathy for all the victims of the conflict, both in Lebanon and in Israel, and at the same time, reminded Boisclair that the Hezbollah is also a murderous association.

I think there are a lot of people in Quebec, like me, who are just fed up with the killing.

You, Athens, bringing the FLQ in this thread is really stupid, and totally irrelevant today. Had you brought the involvement of the FLQ in the '70s would have made some sense. But today, it makes you sound ridiculous.

You guys do not get it. How long did you expect Israel to wait before they did something about the constant suicide bombings? Yesterday I remided my sister that Jews in Israel have also children they also do not deserve to die.

This is so stupid to equate one manifestation with a supposedly ressurrection of the FLQ.

Like some of you said everyone has the right to manifest and if no one says anything it will go away.

Solution? Not really. I'm in favor of a two-state solution, but I am not naive enough to believe that if Israel did just that, it would be a matter of time before there were suicide bombers blowing up restaurants, busses, etc. and demanding Israel cease to exist.

That is, after all, the goal. There is no interest on at least one side of the conflict to peacefully co-exist. And here's a hint: It's not the Israelis that have a problem with coexisting...

I fimly believe that if the israelis leave the West Bank, nothing would change. Nothing at all.
Didn't Israel just exit a part of "Palestine"? Forcibly removing Jewish Israeli settelers from their homes?(yes)
Did the violence from the "Palestinians" stop?(no)

Quoted for truth. Israel has tried to negotiate reasonably several times, but the only deal Palestine is interested in is having Israelis all die in a fire.

And I believe it is Israel's goal to eventually annex the West Bank and ethnic cleanse it of Arabs and Muslims.

They have been doing the latter for years.

And the U.S. supports it.

Is Israel "clensed" now?
No.
"Arabs" travle back and forth from "Palestine" to work.
Arabs and Muslims live in the state of Israel.

To the dismay of many here who would be having those bloodthirsty jooooooz executing all the muslims at dawn.

Sorry, it ain't gonna happen.

Hating a person or a state is much different then hating a group. The state and person can give reasons to be hated, hating a person based on a belief or the color of there skin is just hate with no reason.

Smokescreen. They say they wont stop till Israel is gone completely.

Too many people mix up what THEY want Israel to do, with what the people fighting Israel want.

Very rarely are they the same thing.

It just occurred to me how utterly eager people are to take sides in a situation where we are so far removed from the reality of the region. Especially since neither side has ANY moral high-ground whatsoever.

I'm not sure they're moral equals, but you could make good arguments for both sides being pretty awful and both sides having just grievances against the other.
