Are consumers of Arab/M.E./Islamic media more suspicious of Western media?
Look at two separate phenomena exhibited by some posters here in the P/L.
1. Media skepticism.
2. Pro-Arab/M.E./Islamic positions.
There are posters here who are not necessarily Arab or from the Middle East or Muslim who support Islamic jihad or oppose the west or the WoT.
And there are posters here who are skeptical of the media.
But, without knowing the facts of anyone's ethnicity, national origin or where hey spend their 'away' time, I ask each of those who have spent any significant amounts of time 'consuming' Arab/M.E./Islamic media if they ever have noted they are more cynical of western media than westerners are.
And does your cynicism or skepticism make you stand out from western posters?
I believe your skepticism is natural because you are/have been fed 'artificial news' for so long. I know our news has bias, but in watching many video clips at memri.org and on YouTube and videos which point out the way news is orchestrated and staged and stage managed and with many examples of media manipulation it seems clear that the M.E. media is guilty of steady propagandizing.
And so when you are put into a position to assess the western media you suspect it is as biased, manipulated and irresponsible as M.E. media.
I think this makes you stand out amongst western posters.
Are consumers of Arab/M.E./Islamic media more suspicious of Western media than westerners are, in your opinion?
