Burn someone elses, it's not.
Sweet.
“It shows that they were ignorant in their ways of making their points,” she said. “I personally felt victimized, because I was born in Iran, and the flag represents the people.”
But an American flag dosen't?
Freedom of speech. Only for the left?

All men are created equal, but what they do after that point puts them on a sliding scale.

Huh? What's your point? You quoted one person -- a gal from Iran, specifically -- who said she felt hurt by it. Funny how you didn't bother to point out the counterprotest of a Texas flag being burnt at the same time. That's free speech in action; they were all reasonably peacable, no riots, no nothing.
Oh, but we'd hear howling insanity were the American flag to have been burnt as a counterprotest. They're symbols, that's all. Burning them is rather pointless (except as a means to really tick off one group or another), but is legal and should stay legal.
Across the board. Iranian, Texan, American & Fijian (just to pull a random country outta my hat), plus all the rest. It's the Right that wants to make an exception for the American flag -- to make it an inviolable idol of the nation.
That also is useless, but mortally damaging to our more general rights to free speech.

There was a man fined for burning a Mexican flag.
For burning against an ordinance.
There are equally other burning ordinances in place but no one is charged when it's an American flag.
The left always supports this freedom of speech but yet will condemn the burning of another country's flag. Double standard for the use of the first amendment.

Point out "the left" condemning the burning of those flags in that article. There's the very personal viewpoint of a gal from Iran, there's the fellow burning a Texas flag in counter-protest, and a couple of other people who felt it was pointless.
Also note that the Student Government and the college administration allowed it to proceed due to that very same freedom of speech standard.
You're trying to call hypocrisy where there is simply none to be found.

No, saying it will happen does not count.
I've yet to figure out why one segment of the political spectrum would be against its country of origin. That would sort of defeat the purpose of being in politics no?

It seems you would prefer that if an Iranian flag is burned that people should not be allowed to disagree with such an action since you believe its fully justified. How dare that Iranian student disagree with the burning of her country's flag! That should be illegal!
I think people should be allowed to burn any flag that is their property as long as you aren't breaking any fire ordinances. What's the big deal here?

Nope. Don't feel a bit upset about either flag being burned.
