With the passing of 9.11 this weekend and the over saturation of it within the media and it got me to thinking about what 9.11 really is.
In truth its been 5 years (already?), but can you really consider it a part of our history? We still are living through the repercussions of the planes hitting the towers, the area hasn't been rebuilt, we even still have the President who was in office when the tragedy occurred.
I suppose that may be why I find it hard to swallow endless documentaries, in-depth analysis of causes and effect, and purely gratuitous recycling of the original coverage. Its as if the media wants to look at 9.11 the way it covers WWII, when we don't have enough hindsight to be 20/20 yet.
Am I off my rocker? Perhaps I'm splitting hairs here. Thoughts?
