Great. Apparently now we're too busy in Iraq to worry about the real reason we started the war on terror.

"A political solution is how it's all going to be solved," he said.
Looks like Frist's application for French citizenship has been approved since he's become an apeasenik and surrendermonkey.

Now he can be called Bill 'Le Frist'.

Typical right-wing terrorist appeaser. We need to kill terrorists, not talk to them. Like the kittens Frist killed.

I'm amazed that this thread has not garnered more repsonses. Mr. Right has declared that we cannot defeat the Taliban militarily yet all I hear is crickets chirping in this thread. Frist is acutally promoting that we make a deal with the very same people we formerly described as the devil.

Frist is an America basher now, I guess. I'm uneasy about negotiating with the Taliban, but it's folly to take on a movement with such vehement public support unless we're willing to make a much larger military and political commitment. I thought this was one of the lessons of Vietnam.

WTF? Our one war that actually accomplishes what we set out to do, and he wants to reverse it?

Frist wants to cut and run. We can't set a timetable on this! We'll get the job done.

It sounds more like what ultimately went down in Iraq - allowing moderate Baathists back into the fold of the political process.

I'm weary of the "Bill Frist said Monday that the Afghan guerrilla war can never be won militarily" paraphrasing. I'd have liked to see an actual quote. Either way, the statement is absolutely false without further detail. It should be "the Afghan guerrilla war can never be won militarily with this pussy-ass manner in which we are fighting it." Perhaps it's a cost-benefit thing, I don't know. But we could send a few nukes their way and win militarily rather quickly.

For those who are portraying Frist as being Cut and Run: you obviously missed this line in the article...

"We're going to need to stay here a long time," Frist said.

I'm not sure you could do that, since the US has signed that agreement that prohibits the US to use nukes against countries that don't have nukes.
