It turns out that what scientists thought was a different tiny species of pre-human was actually just a mutant member of our own species.
I think this is good. It means that the colony of live hobbits I keep in my cellar will be worth more.

There's been a lot of evidence pointing to this for some time. I'm still not sure how much sense "de-volution" made, anyways.
I wonder if they have a revised dating estimate?

Since you mentioned it, I think I might have to place another order soon. I've got one that is obsessed with something it's calling it's "precious".

I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

Where does the article mention "de-evolution" (whatever that would be)?

That's too bad. It would have been one of the most fascinating stories in all of the study of human evolution, if it was true.

I doubt that it does. I didn't read the entire article - just the first couple paragraphs. I did a mechanisms of evolution class last year that touched on the find. At that point there had already been some questions raised about what I think the archaelogists termed "evolutionary dwarfing," or something of the sort. Shrinking our brains down to the size required to fit into the skull found would've raised some serious issues.

Naw it just knocks a few condescending anti-religious nuts down a few notches. The rest of us it really doesn't effect. That includes a long list of Atheists as well.
