? ? ? ? ? ? ?

! ! ! ! ! ! !

Sort of leave you scratching your head, doesn't it?

No doubt I'll get attacked by those slugging blue Kool-Aide™ for posting this. Fact is I'm harsh on the Bush administration and the Republican Congress because they deserve it. They have failed America.

In 1999 I attacked Clinton because he deserved it. He was a slug who degraded the office of the president. Bush has gone several steps further with his actions.

art_director, you're awfully defensive about being labeled partisan. The fact is, they're going to call you partisan no matter what. Say it like it is, don't apologize for it, and you don't need to find false equivalencies (like Clinton in 1999 vs. Bush in 2006) to prove how balanced you are. First, what they've done in office is not in the least bit equivalent, and it won't make you appear more fair to the dead-enders anyway.

Didn't mean to come as defensive, just honest and open. Thx for the comments just the same.

It's true, there's a vast difference between what Clinton did and the many things Bush et. al. have done. My hope is that the growing unrest in America will force the Congress -- whether Dem or Rep run -- to punish this administration for their many misdeeds. Of course, that means they'd be taking bullets themselves so it's unlikely.

I sympathize with you, Art. I'm something of a mixed bag myself: a social conservative, who is seriously tired of neoconservatism. Whenever I criticize Bush, people think I am being a partisan liberal. Not so.

The things I care about most are: individual liberty, social harmony, and (non-evangelical) Christian heritage.

What has Bush done? He's acted as midwife to destructive ideas like globalization, immigration, unbridled capitalism, etc. His ultra-capitalist ideals are destroying the US's regional character, he is helping important jobs trickle away to China, he is letting the country be over-run by Mexicans, etc. He spends us into oblivion. All for the pursuit of economic growth.

On top of this he tries to unite everyone behind gay-marriage bans, a total waste of time.

I understand that our position in Iraq is much more nuanced than any sound bite, such as "stay the course" or "cut and run". But this administration seems to live by the sound bite, so I'm suprised Bush is rejecting one that he has relied on for so long now.

Stewart and Colbert will love this. Are they having new episodes this week?

Hey I'm in good company: Simey is a gay conservative who is rather sympathetic to Christianity.

FWIW, I find it very strange that you'd want to make that comparison. Asides from the labels you mention, I see no particular similarities.

To me it sounded like Bush didnt understand the question. G. Steph was in my mind referring to a time table to pull out (In between stay the course and cut and run) while Bush was saying that they are trying all avenues to secure Iraq... 2 years, and about 3 months until this is over.

what most of you fail to realize is that 'stay the course' is, in actuality, a broad open-ended process of discourse between the US, the iraqi gov't, insurgents, syria, iran, et al. just because many of those avenues haven't been explored, even, some might say, completely shut out in the past three+ years, doesn't require - does not require that it is outside the realm of their definition.

i blame the liberal press for never asking for clarification of 'stay the course'. some of you are so quick to judge the inclusive nature of this administration. for shame.

Helping jobs trickle away to China?
NAFTA and the China Free Trade Agreement.
Clinton's legacy.
And It's not Just Mexican illegals. The left wants these illegals here. As voters.

I believe that is a exaggeration. I know of no person that is like this personally. And if there is any, it's a minority.

There a good video here (it's the second one) of Bush saying "stay the course" over and over and over again. But no longer - their policy never was "stay the course!" And it will be a true miracle if the "liberal media" ever calls them on it.

I don't believe that's generally accepted.

It sounds like Bush is planning to cut and right, but just waiting until after the election. (Too bad for all the American soldiers dying in the meantime.) After all, if we aren't staying the course, then we must be cut-and-run'ing.

I think it had more to do with Clinton being a sexual predator, and lying under oath.
