Is this scenario even considered in any national law, so that Venezuela can be effectively isolated from the US and not cause any more grief?

Is the Venezuela threat just an emotional threat, a country that doesn't really deserve any action against it, or does Chavez have any real teeth to be scared from?

Those stations cause grief by selling you oil? I guess I don't quite get it.

I'm more than happy in the assisting of depleating of Venesula's oil reserves.
They'll run out eventually and they'll have nothing to support the socialist government.
And I did my part.

Can? Probably. Should? No way. Note that even their longtime partner, 7-11 has dropped Citgo because of Hugo's antics. Let 'em whither and fall. And like Sky Captain, I don't have any problem with Venezuela depleting their reserves, I'm not going to buy any gas from them to help with that goal. Let Hugo eat cake.

Yea...instead just buy more from the Saudi's so their princes can build another palace...oppress their people a little more, and produce a few more terrorists with a penchant for flying planes

Just connecting the dots.

Yes, Darfur certainly has a lot to do with strong oil revenues freeing the Sudanese government from international (Western) pressure. I guess if you don't want to support terrorism or genocide, your best bet is to buy Venezuelan oil -- but since oil is a world market you'll probably ended supporting genocide anyway. Best not to use any oil.

We have Bush/Cheney in charge and you're worried about Venezeula?

Did I misread, did you make a typo, or is this truly a self negating sentence?

The socialism is not the problem there. There are many socialists countries in South America and they are fine (Brasil, Bolivia, Chile).

When you see Chavez insulting the U.S., that's not the problem. The problem is that Venezuela is effectively "1984" on Earth, a dictatorship that has exterminated all dissidents.

What's your obsession with Venezuela anyway?

Is it because he got the US by the balls (oil)? Or because he's using popular opinion to divert from internal problems … so what, it's not exactly an original idea, is it
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I actually care more about what Chavez does for/to the Venezuelan people, than whatever he could do to the U.S. (Government or people).

Secondly, I am not a fan of inefficient oil consumption. I will be very glad when no cars have combustion engines inside.

What do you propose to replace them? Electric engines (That have to produce the electricity in some equally inefficient way in a plant somewhere?)

Gas-electric plants would be about twice as efficient and less polluting than the equivalent collective of cars. Electricity can be generated from nuclear, hydro, wind, solar, etc. Batteries are largely recyclable.
