I've been a lurker here for quite a while. I feel like ... to post on a forum and give it my full attention, I only post on one, while I read many. I started posting on Mac-Forums.com just because it was the first one I found when starting with Macs.

Anyways, seems that the admins there don't like voices of dissent. Or people that might, just might know of easier, better, or just plain alternative ways of doing things. They sure dont like people who know what they know and stand up for that point of view. Seems that word has come down from on high from Bryan "bone smuggler" Schwegler to ban my whole IP to keep me from even reading his forums anymore. Sounds like a little boy crying and taking his toys home. You know, I've just about had it with asshats like him who enjoy the freedoms of speech, but don't allow it for others. I like a good argument as long as it's kept civil.

I feel like the last 2 years over there were just wasted. Yeah, I bump heads with people once in a while... but I always work it out in the end.

And whats with his need to give demerit points? Like we're in 3rd grade or something?

Anyways, I just wanted to vent. How many others ran afoul of Mac-forums childish mods?

No. No it's not ANYTHING like it is over there.. trust me. You guys talk way more about the actual tech.. and those guys... well... :::shrug::::

Lets just say 2 snaps and a twist were the only topics of conversation over there. Bryan has a little following, and they all tow the party line. If you dont like it .. its made pretty clear they dont like you.

Seriously, we have infraction cards, we ban users, we ban ip ranges, and we priv msg users to let them know why.

We do all those things pretty rarely.

But do read the rules please. Makes my life much more relaxed.

The mods at mac-forums are a bit nazi-ish. If anything is remotely off-topic they get all bent out of shape. And anytime they start a thread there's all sorts of rules. The user rating system is dumb. "OMFG why did someone disapprove of my post?" There are a lot more people here too, so it's not dead.
