Precolumbian Muslims in the Americas
By Dr. Youssef Mroueh, Preparatory Commitee for International Festivals to celebrate the millennium of the Muslims arrival to the Americas (1996 CE)

Numerous evidence suggests that Muslims from Spain and West Africa arrived to the Americas at least five centuries before Columbus. It is recorded, for example, that in the mid-tenth century, during the rule of the Ummayyed Caliph Abdul-Rahman III (929-961 CE), Muslims of African origin sailed westward from the Spanish port of DELBA(Palos) into the "Ocean of darkness and fog". They returned after a long absence with much booty from a "strange and curious land". It is evident that people of Muslim origin are known to have accompanied Columbus and subsequent Spanish explorers to the New World.

[...]

Based on the above historical, geographical and linguistic notes, a call to celebrate the millennium of the Muslim arrival to the Americas, five centuries before Columbus, has been issued to all Muslim nations and communities around the world. We hope that this call will receive complete understanding and attract enough support.

Ok, follow me here.

I've recently come to understand that there is an Islamic belief that THE WHOLE WORLD always has and always will belong to Islam. The global conquest should, more accurately, be considered a global RE-conquest.

And the lands that are to be RE-conquered first are those that have been actually part of the dar al-Islam.

Dar al-Islam (Arabic: دار الإسلام literally house of submission) is a term used to refer to those lands under Muslim government(s). In the conservative tradition of Islam the world is divided into two components: dar al-Islam, the house of submission and dar al-Harb, the house of war.

Dar al-Islam and its associated terms are not found in the two most basic works of Islam, the Qur'an and the Hadith. Some modern Muslim scholars maintain that the labeling of a country or place as dar al-Islam or dar al-harb revolves around the question of religious security. This means that if a Muslim practices Islam freely in his place of abode, then he will be considered as living in a dar al-Islam, even if he happens to live in a secular or non-Islamic country.

Traditional definitions tend to focus on which religion holds ultimate authority.

Recently, prominent Western Muslim intellectuals, such as Tariq Ramadan, have challenged the dar al-Islam/dar al-Harb worldview, suggesting additional 'houses' (or 'abodes') to describe differing situations.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dar_al-Islam
So, what this site is saying is that America was once part of dar al-Islam.

That means (given the understanding that the whole world belonged/belongs to Islam) that America is on a short list of those nations which should be re-conquered first.

We hope that this call will receive complete understanding and attract enough support.
I take this to be a little "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" to the believers that gives them the "justification" to go about taking back America.

How come we're just now hearing this?

Maybe this comment sheds light on a possible reason:

Bat Ye'or, a historian, talks about the Islamist process of rewriting history. They Islamize the past and claim the achievements of preceding civilizations. To the best of my knowledge Muslims are the only "religion" to build their mosques on top of pre-existing Hindu temples and Christian churches, and Jewish temples.

This is all consistent with the process she describes in her books.

When will we begin to see the big picture?

All our base are, in fact, belong to them.

So Islamists want to take over the world? What should we do to stop them (in addition to starting a civil war in Iraq, of course)?

I bet James Bond could stop them.

Al-Andalus, first.

At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. It was turned back.

Israel. Vienna. Then, maybe the US.

The two things I think we should do right now is to not pull out of Iraq.

And resist EVERY urge or temptation to buy into the efforts to divide America, racially.

And spread the word to others to do the same.

America already fought our Civil War. We don't need a second one that's being orchestrated by Islamists.

Ralph Peters argues there's no need for anyone to worry about Europe being taken over by Islamists. The Europeans have a history of ethnic cleansing and racial hatred that should have the Islamists shaking in their boots.

THE 'EURABIA' MYTH - MUSLIMS TAKE OVER EUROPE? SORRY, THERE'S NO CHANCE

Um, why?

A book you might like, marden, is Guests of the Ayatollah : the first battle in America's war with militant Islam by Mark Bowden (the Black Hawk Down author).

One thing which becomes clear very early on is that the students were extremely misinformed about the US. They thought, for example, that black embassy workers or black Americans in the US might sympathize with them (being similarly oppressed by the Great Satan).

My own opinion is that the best way to fight ignorance is with education. Which again puts Bush and the rest of the anti-science crowd (evolution is fake, scientists are just another lobby group, scientific leaders must pledge loyalty to Bush, the oil companies should be believed on global warming, etc. etc.) on the wrong side of the battle.

Said by a completely irrelevant and powerless fool.

The real danger lies in how this government day-by-day cracks down on our freedoms. Islamic supremacists are no danger to our freedoms like the government is.

Quick, Martha, check under the bed!

It is really sad how some people are so easily scared! A small percentage of the Muslim world causes problems, and it gets extrapolated out to the entire Muslim world! Marden, you're going to die in an auto accident, or get struck by lightning, or by any of a number of other causes long before you die from a terrorist act, and you can take that to the bank.

Here's an excellent article on why people worry about the wrong things. Read it and learn.

yay! A Time Magazine article.

They informed us about the threat of 'Global Cooling' if I remember correctly - so they obviously have a firm grasp on the facts.

Now, if you are talking about the U.K. I think I'd have to agree with you. Sorta.

I think the U.K. government is using a type of "Judo" on the Jihadists. They are using the increased presence of Muslims and the increased volatility of the few Jihadists in their midsts to gain greater policing powers over ALL the people.

I think the UK govt. has gone to a Big Brother model. But it has only gone to the Big Brother model because they woke up too late to deal with the problem of the Jihadists in their midsts too late. But they are making the best of a bad situation and will be creating what might be called a digital version of freedom.

The US can avoid this, ironically, by giving approval to the government's efforts to maintain our safety using these various means, as a way to keep things as organically free as possible.

Thanks. That's comforting to know. But I'm concerned with how you will die. And how the America government and our way of life might die.

EDIT: And Spliffdaddy is right, (again). When was Time magazine useful in warning or predicting or correctly advising us of anything regarding 9/11 or the WoT?

Yup!

So the jihadists had better think twice about re-claiming Eurabia.
