You've now been accused of warcrimes of your own.

"There is a big difference between Canada and the United States," Mr. Azizullah said, tapping his fingertips together in a pensive gesture.

"If we attack the Canadians, they call for aircraft and bomb everything in the area. The U.S. only tried to kill the Taliban. The Canadians try to kill everybody."
Oh, please save us from the bloodthirsty Canadians.

(Disclaimer: I personally do not place any credence in these remarks, but feel Canadians should be aware that they do not possess the moral high ground they attempt to beat Americans about the head and shoulders with when it comes to these people.)

It's easy to glean from that quote.

Mess with Canada = everything gets blown up

Mess with US = just some things get blown up

Remember your responses in this thread the next time someone accuses the American military of indiscriminately opening fire and laying waste to its surroundings.

The US military could learn something from the Canadians.

I've never heard anything but praise for Canadian soldiers...all I hear is that they are some bad dudes. Not sure if they are instructed to never give interviews, but the ones I've seen are few and far between - and never include any of the soldiers personal feelings. Strictly business, though not unfriendly.

Hey, this thread is about Canada bashing, not praise. Stop derailing.

The thread is not about Canada bashing. Perhaps you should read the link again.

Canadian soldiers are permitted to speak to the press, but only about matters which they have first-hand knowledge, such as their personal duties.

Generally, Canadian soldiers only speak to the press at events organized by Public Affairs Officers, but are not obligated to speak to the press if they don't wish to.

I read the link this morning. It didn't occur to me until now that the phrase "war-crime" is not mentioned in this story.

JTF2 (Elite Canadian commando unit) has been the choice of the American soldiers slogging around in the mountains as their cover providers. They are excellent snipers and have saved Americans from being ambushed many times. I guess they are rarely seen and are only in radio contact.

This was a couple of years ago. No one knows if they are still there, in fact no one knew they were original there till a picture appeared of JTF2 members loading prisoners onto an American plane.

Game over man, game over! We're in some pretty sh!t now!

*EDIT*

When I was in Kuwait during GW1, the Canadians were absolute badasses.
Their snipers racked up more kills. And showed no mercy.
If an Iraqi soilder even looked like he had a weapon, *pop*.
All men are created equal, but what they do after that point puts them on a sliding scale.

It is funny how the whole world thinks of Canadians as relatively peaceful, polite, small military and quite but the terrorists are scared shitless of us because we'd go loco on their ass if they tried anything.

I know. That's why Canadians don't need a Gitmo. They just kill combatants on the spot.

Again, the USA could learn from that.

Always wondered why the Canadian military never seemed to have any prisoners.

Absolutely.
They didn't take prisioners in Kuwait that were deemed a threat or would continue to be dangerous.

We gather them up and sent them to a tropical paradise and pamper them.

Canadian tanks deployed in Panjwaii district...

Tanks were last used in Afghanistan's rugged terrain three decades ago when the former Soviet Union made its siege on the nation.

The Canadian tanks, however, have been tailored specifically for service in the rough landscape where the Taliban are most at home, but where it is often difficult to make use of heavy equipment.

"The tanks make it clear the Canadians mean business", said Maj. Trevor Cadieu, a squadron commander.

The Canadian nationalism and chest-pounding in here is frankly a little hostile and concerning.
