Expect a big book deal now where he claims he never wanted to "stay the course" as Iraq burned.
Meanwhile, no strategy other than "stay the course" is acceptable to Bush. So Rumsfeld was dropped.

Rumsfeld outlined several options in the memo for policy changes, including reductions in U.S. forces and bases in Iraq as well as a recasting of the U.S. mission and goals there, but he endorsed no specific recommendations.

Can't wait for abemardenwriter to chime in on this one.
Lots of backstabbing going on from the right side right about now. It's rather amusing watching him walk such a fine line when civil war is breaking out and Rumsfield and Republican panels are suddenly advocating pullouts/reductions. Considering the amount of posting he/she's done against these things in the past couple years....it's just gotta hurt. 
Ahhhh well, I'm sure the Left™ is behind it all anyway...just remember, the only way we can lose is if we leave before the job is done!
