I'd at least stop and eat brakefast with him.
Maybe get an autograph.
But I wouldn't discuss politics though.

I saw it after you pointed it out.
Stop and brakefast.
Screeching to a halt for breakfast.
I actually don't eat breakfast.
Maybe a tangerine sometimes.

Funny, but as usual, context matters. I say that because the brain dead "Bash Bush for literally everything" crowd usually makes an art out of purposefully taking everything out of context, so it's only fair to point it out the other way around.
This is like the kind of photo a biased news editor would choose to convey the intended slanted message without actually spelling it out. (To all those dummies that can't ever spot media bias, don't even know what it is, and deny it exists.)
Here's a photo of the same event, perhaps telling just a wee-tad different side of things:
http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger...y%20basra1.jpg
And is that the American Embassy as claimed by the original blogger? Flying a Brit flag?
It doesn't really accomplish much to stoop to the same crap level of Bush-bashing doofuses just to slam Lurch. There's plenty of real stuff to bash him for anyway.

So where are the flowers that are on the table in the other photo?
Maybe the soilders removed them. (soilders are known to hate flowers)

Purportedly, the photo in the OP was taken by a servicemember and sent to Scott Hennan and Powerline ( HotTalk ).
The photo in Crash's post is an official AP newsphotographer's snap.
They are also of two completely separate meals, at two separate locations.

The point is, there's no context to the first photo. It's probably just after a meal, or before others sat down. Maybe Kerry moved around to talk to different people. Who knows? Who cares?
The point of the second photo is merely to show that servicemen obviously weren't shunning Kerry. I don't know for sure if it's the EXACT same place or not, but clearly it could have been.
I don't particularly see why military people would go out of their way to shun the guy- yes, he's a nitwit who we're all glad isn't their commander-in-chief, yes he's continuously made disparaging remarks toward the troops- but he didn't get elected, so everyone knows he's just a show-off senator trying his best to make it look like he actually gives a $hit. Just because he's a turd who fakes not being one, doesn't mean everyone else has to act like a turd back to him.
Like I said, I just don't see the need to do the same thing the Bush-bashers always do- make up bullshit and take things purposefully out of context. No matter what, it's just WEAK, and the side effect is, no body gives a flying **** when you actually might have a legit gripe to point out after you've whined-wolf 10,000,000 times over bunk- the very lesson the rabid Bush-bashing/anti-US crowd never can grasp.

This happens quite often. Conservatives find some tiny flaw in one individual from "the Left" and blow it up as another piece of vindication for their worldview.
You know conservatives have run out of ideas when this is all they can resort to.

Except liberals have a lot of valid complaints about the way Republicans have been running the federal government the last 6 years. Conservatives on the other hand tend to do ridiculous things like blame the media and Al Franken on the failures of the Iraq war.

Crooks and Liars A Shoot and A Miss for Right Wing Blogs
At Hennen's site, commenter "Anthony" noted that the picture's embedded data, just a right-click away, shows the picture was taken on January 9, 2006 - several months before Kerry botched his joke….
News accounts at the time put Kerry in England around that time - which might explain the giant Union Jack hanging on the far wall.
At PowerLine, another problem surfaced: As commenter "Angus" noted, the flag hanging to the right of the Union Jack belongs to Portugal, which withdrew its mighty 120-man coalition force from Iraq nearly two years ago.
You got suxord. Do you even go through your flight check list?

I like the little tribute to Kerry. Though his joke bombed, if anything at all, he would be making just as much fun of himself than anyone else.
But a few certain facts remain:
* Kerry is a decorated war hero, and most of his critics aren’t.
* Any suggestion that Kerry’s “botched joke” was criticism of the troops is ridiculous.
* Kerry chose to spend time during the holiday season with troops in Iraq, and most of his critics didn’t.
* Kerry has spent the past few years being right about the war in Iraq, and most of his critics haven’t.

Now the swipe to my flight proceedures, uncalled for. No personal attacks.
I am by the book strict to the preflight, and predeparture checklist.
I have 50-70 peoples lives in my hands at one time and it's beyond insulting for you to even imply I might be the slightest casual with the safety of my passangers and first officer.

truth is, most of us in the military DO NOT like liberals. And the sad thing is we support whats going on in Iraq, but the liberals tend to use us to support there arguments. What they dont realize is, this is why we signed up.....to help the less fortunate, including the good people in Iraq.

This is strange. I'm only seeing a still of a John Kerry sitting at a table almost alone for at least a fraction of a second.
You are obviously able to see everything that happened both before and after this still was captured. How does your view of the picture show you the entire meal, giving you the ability to conclude that there weren't other people at the table who got up to go get seconds just before the still was captured?

How do you feel about the reports that our presence in Iraq is causing more terrorism, violence and destruction than it's preventing? Question being, is your motivation to help people stronger or weaker than your motivation to do what you were trained to do, fight?

Or got up and left because he sat beside them perhaps.
