The Washington Post, in scathing editorial ( for the Post against a Democrat ) decried Pelosi's attempt to create a a shadow president.
"We came in friendship, hope, and determined that the road to Damascus is a road to peace," Ms. Pelosi grandly declared.
"Never mind that that statement is ludicrous" said the Post is response.
The mixed messages these kind of gambits produce are not only conterproductive, but are damaging to the national interest and undermine the free worlds attemp to islolate the real thugs and criminals in the world. This kind of cozying up to terrorists, dictators and thugs is what we can expect from the Democrats. They sing the praises of Castro, suck up to Assad in Syria, tell us how much better off the people of Iraq were under Hussein, and they kissed the feet of Arafat when he was alive. Gorbachev and his succesors, in their view, freed Europe. We have one supporter of Pelosi who has gone Public. Jimmy Aparthied Carter. What a freakin joke. When will Pelosi schedule a new mission of accomdation with Armedinejad in Iran? Oh that's right, the Democrat and the lefts position on Iraq is their accommodation with Armedinejad.
