Another attempt at controlling what you and I can read. If you care, please take a minute and at least click on the link to let the Postal Board know that they can't simply sneak this hike into effect without public comment. It's another attempt, along with the issue of Net Neutrality, and the consolidation of media empires, to both control what information and news you and I can get, and how much we're going to be charged when a few media conglomerates own it all.

Hmmm. Lots of blatantly one-sided interpretation and very little reference to primary sources.

Unfortunate if true, but it's the cost of doing business I suppose. If I were running a magazine I'd convert to online distribution anyway.

Unfortunately, you wouldn't have much success. Most of the online news sites get their primary revenue from print sources. Print is still one of the primary ways most people get their information, especially when it comes to magazines, as they are generally issue specific. The other problem is that this is part of a muti-pronged attack by large media companies to consolidate and basically own all sources of news, therefore, telling you what they want you to hear, and not necessarily what's good for democracy. If Net Nuetrality fails, and the cable companies combine with phone companies and internet providers, as is happening now, you will have no place to get verifiable information, and you'll have to pay for that "privilege," even on the internet. Time Warner, Verizon, Clear Channel, etc., aren't worried about you and me; they're worried about pleasing their shareholders, which are also being consolidated, with fewer people being able to own stocks, as wages stagnate and the wealth gap grows. This isn't simply a question of getting your news online or somewhere else, when that somewhere else is owned by very few corporations.

I think you're going a bit crazy there, Karl. Viacom isn't trying to kill you.
