I don't understand why this needs to be broken down for some people. The war costs YOUR money. That aside, the money spent by now could have rid the US of its oil dependancy altogether. It is like we are living in some evil parallel universe.

Sad thing is, the war is making some people money. That's a big part of the problem.

Can you say no-bid contracts?

You feed the rats to the cats, skin the cats, feed the cats to the rats, and get the skins for free.

Then, you feed the rats to the cats, skin the cats, feed the cats to the rats, and get the skins for free.

And analogue SPRINKLES, not to make a joke of your thread. $456 billion is serious money, and it is a shame that we put it in the hands of lying fools.

Pff, just think of the unemployment in the US if you got rid of the Army, AF and Navy.
You'd pay the same amount in Social Security and stuff...

No, if you just maintained the current US army, AF and Navy without war, it would be a lot cheaper. Plus, you could use them for productive things, like, oh, I don't know, building Levees in New Orleans?

... And the usual suspects are nowhere to be found. This war is indefensible.
The 4 o'clock train will be a bus.
It will depart at 20 minutes to 5.

And Canada spends billions pretending to be an unprofitable HMO. Governments often waste large amounts of money.

I'd buy Anheuser Busch and shut down all their breweries.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

Yes, but the purpose of the Candian health care system is not to turn a profit, but to provide reasonable cost health care to all citizens, a goal which it achieves to a large degree.

Yes. I mean, I don't know how may people play any given lottery, but if you buy 4.5 bln 1USD tickets, you contributed most of the prize money - where is the payoff going to come from?
