I'm a bit surprised nobody has brought this up yet.
Lewis `Scooter' Libby has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and a fine of $250,000 for of perjury and obstruction of justice.
What troubles me is that there is talk of a Presidential pardon …

I think a pardon is likely, I'm more curious as to when it comes.

The drama that would follow a pardon will be delicious.

Not really, no-one will care, and it will be too late.

Late isn't the point. The Democrats will rage against this. They will try to gain from it.

Bush will make pardons at the end of his 'presidency', it will be too late at that point for the democrats to gain from it.

If that's the case, looks like Libby will do some time.
Like I said it's not whether Bush will pardon him that's interesting, it's when.

This administration is corrupt to the core. It's incredible that George and Dick have not been impeached.

He clearly deserved it. I'm not sure how much more there is to say. Judging from your own post and all the one-liners following it, I think most people agree.

Well, I was just expecting that somebody would make note of it here in the PL. Sorry for the short post, but I had to `post and run' to university …
I'm glad that he was sentenced, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if he's pardoned by Bush Jr. Not that this is a very appealing thought: being pardoned by the very Administration which was involved in the scandal. This would be the pinnacle of cronyism.

<offtopic>People who are nitpicky about their quotes would like to use the second-best thing to typographic quotes. If you use 'asdf', then it isn't distinguished between the two. Hence many people use `asfd' instead. Also, LaTeX requires you to use the backtick, otherwise it doesn't render the quotation mark correctly. Hence it became a habit. </offtopic>

I don't know, First off it would be wrong, but that doesn't matter in politics secondly it would be a disastrous move on his part since Bush always claimed to take the high moral path
