I hardly think anyone of the "I'll freakin' go to Canada!" mindset would leave because Obama won. Considering the incredible LACK of anyone leaving when W won (twice) in spite of spouting to any and everyone that they would (Mr. Baldwin? Are you packed?), I don't expect this to be a potential issue at all.

Surely they will be heading for North Korea, or Saudi Arabia, to be with folks who have similar views about civil liberties to the Bush administration?

I threatened to move to Canada when W was elected the second time. Then I found out it gets cold up there.

Seriously, I'm sure there are people who probably would leave the country because they don't like the presidential elect. I would bet that it is a small percentage, though, of people who make the claim.

"There is a minority of intellectual pacifists, whose real motive appears to be admiration for totalitarianism. Pacifist propaganda boils down to saying that one side is as bad as the other, but if one looks closely at the writing of these intellectual pacifists, one finds that they do not by any means express impartial disapproval but are directed against Britain and the United States" - George Orwell, 1945.

He is not going to win the presidency.

I will be sorry for the Americans if he wins the presidency. He will be a lot worst than Bush Jr.

Interesting point of view, Monique. Why do you say that? Because he'd probably attack parts of the Constitution that Bush hasn't bothered with?

She said she'd move if George was reelected. She's still here. Gee so is EVERYBODY that said they'd leave if George was reelected. Maybe they didn't really mean it? Like maybe they think they can influence the election by threatening to leave? Well, maybe Alec Baldwin... Nah! He just needs to go to detox and apologize to his daughter. Publicly. Both of them.

You should remember a series of presidents called Wilson, Harding, Coolidge; Wilson fought against women to have the right to vote, drag the U.S. in an European conflict; and Harding and Coolidge administrations contributed to the great depression.

I am saying that he will be worst because he has no experience, he is racist (staying 20 years in a church that promotes hate; I would have stayed 5 minutes); putting his foot in his mouth saying that his white grandmother was hysterical; no experience whatsoever in foreign policy (would you sit down with a terrorist like the president of Iran); no plan to help the U.S. in the forthcoming recession; no plan for healthcare (repeating what Hillary Clinton has been saying for months); stealing the elections (not making any efforts to make sure Michigan and Florida's votes would count; what kept him from being on the ballot in Michigan, too late); speak like a university professor forgetting that Mr. and Mrs. blue collar do not speak that language; finally I can see his cabinet being only African American, reverse racism.
