If it is, the silver border indicates he's holding it backward.

Also, it should be "Click! Click! Click!"

Hahaha, you could time-warp that strip to 35 years ago... and replace the iPhone with some Agent Orange....and no one would look twice.

Weird, huh?

Probably mint tea if it is supposed to be Afghanistan but yeah, the parallels to Vietnam are quite eerie. Who was it that said "don't fight a land war in Asia"? I think our time in Afghanistan will wind up just like our time in Vietnam, no solid victory and no definitive defeat. the really said thing is we had the whole world's support behind us for this particular "land war in Asia". Had we stayed focused on Afghanistan, and the Taliban there that supported Al Qaeda, we would have had a chance to actually win a land war in Asia for once. Sigh!

The way things are going there--The Taliban controls large sections of the countryside and the poppy harvest has been record-setting the past couple of years-- I have a feeling we will be back in Afghanistan in another two or three decades to deal with the mess we created this time.
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

Isn't the Taliban a mess we helped create during the Cold War?
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

Yes, although on a practical level, due to the way the relationships worked, you could say that Pakistan and the ISI were at least equally responsible during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan for directing U.S. military assistance to the more radical mujahideen (primarily because they were more effective fighters, for obvious reasons) at the expense of people like Massoud.

Waitaminnit... I thought "chai" was what they called "tea" everywhere else.
