Over the years we've seen the caricature of various politicians, especially W. (W as: Hitler, Alfred E Newman, a Special Olympian, etc.) We've seen the parodies of the now famous "Hope" poster. Now we have this one. To quote Bill O' Reilly "what say you?"

I'm not sure exactly from what angle to view that illustration so it isn't an offensive waste. It's not funny. It's not insightful. It's not moving. It isn't even all that visually interesting. What is it even saying? That socialism is just like anarchism?
I think a shop of Obama with a turd on his head and the caption "Poopyhead" would have been smarter.

I think the idea is to play off the "why so sad/serious/etc." idea, since everyone thought Obama was The Most High, and now they're seeing his true colors — and now they're all dazed and confused, and Obama doesn't give a rat's arse. So, he's saying "why so sad...YOU voted for me!"

It's funny from the standpoint of disrespect for 0bama. I'm surprised it came from LA! I guess if they understand the path we are being taken down there is hope after all. It'll make some DC residents really irate too.

Clever Red, White and Blue colour scheme.
Other than that, you'd be outraged and ranting about Presidential disrespect if this was George Bush's face. Do unto others, yadda Jesus yadda.

I like it. Obama is America's Joker. He and his buddies are running our country into the ground for the lulz. At least that's the only way to explain their policy choices, aside from clinical stupidity.

In what ways is he investing in this country? By giving Pelosi and her crew in Congress nearly a trillion in pork labeled as Stimulus? By quadrupling even Bush's record deficit? By ruining health insurance and care in an even bigger way than his predecessors so that the government can take it over more or less completely? (Remember, HMO changes under Clinton that took place in 1995 are what many doctors blame for the primary care physican crisis we currently have, in which no one wants to go into primary care anymore because there's no way to get paid for it.) By being a tool of the trial lawyers? By breaking his tax promises? By caving into the most vicious regimes abroad, treating them as our buddies, and throwing our only true Mideast ally to the slaughter (and treating Jews as subhumans once again on the world stage)?
I'll readily admit that Bush was a pretty crappy president, but Obama's looking to outdo him many times over. And you can carp and complain all you want about Bush, or about the Republicans, but your guys are in control of this country now. It's easier to bash the other side than defend your own side's policies.

Sure, I point out the foolishness in yours and others hysteria. I do appreciate you fessing up to Bush being a crappy president. I will meet you halfway and admit President Obama is not perfect. We have endured 8 years of rightwing rule, can't we try 8 MONTHS of the left without the "sky is falling" mantra? It makes you look silly, actually.

It's funny because the Joker represents Socialism and Batman represents Capitalism.
Oh maybe not.
Okay, it's funny to put a whiteface on a blackman. Haha...
We all know, according to Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, that Obama is a racist angry Black man who hates white people like his mom and his grandparents.
Why so angry black man?
Cause you ain't white and need to paint your face white?

Rush seems to think that it relates to Obama contriving crises in order to remake the USA, much like the Joker was trying to do to Gotham.
The joker also worked to eliminate the criminal elements of Gotham to make way for a worse one.
Seems about right to me.

I don't mind people expressing themselves with silly caricatures of the President. It's why we have a president, not a king. He should be parodied, ruthlessly if need be. I'm sure there will be much more of this for the next 3.5 to 7.5 years.
However, as has been pointed out, the "socialism" tag makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The Joker is an anarchist, the exact opposite of a socialist. Might as well have put "nutter butter" underneath and it would have made just as much sense.
Just goes to show that a good portion of the rightwing really has no freakin' clue what socialism really is, it's just a meaningless catch-all term for anything Obama does that they don't like at this point.

Just as the left mislabels everything or everyone they don't like as fascist or the other "N" word, because a good portion of them have no freakin'.... yada yada (fascists like the other "N" word were another flavor of the left)

It's true, some leftists were a little too quick to use the fascism tag against Bush (as some right-wingers are today against Obama). So there are idiots across the political spectrum. Don't see how that disproves my point.
And I think it's rather cute for you to be accusing the left of mislabeling things when you've got "Obama/Biden '08-Marx/Engels '08" sitting so prominently in your sig.

Chongo: carry on ranting, but if you ever wonder why nobody but other staunch Republicans heavily invested in being unreasonable seem to care about your latest rants, come back to this thread.
What's funny to me is that every time somebody dips into reasonable discussion I'm always too late to the thread before it reverts back to this same sort of garbage... Woe is I!

I replied with examples of much worse aimed at W, (providing a point of reference)how the media had little or no coverage of it, and pointed out that Alex Jones is not a Republican.

Alex Jones does not align himself with the Republicans. He's a 9/11 truther and birther, you know, the ones that claim Bush and Cheney were in on it, and Obama is just the latest puppet to occupy the White House.

Bush-bashing is a nonpartisan endeavor. Even my most stalwart Republican friends hate the hell out of Bush. So I don't really count that against his red cred. But maybe you're right and I only happen to hear the more Republican-sounding things he says.

What I find amazing about the Bush bashing that is going on now is how blindsided many Republicans were to what Bush was doing at the time, and how boldly they are behaving now in spite of this. For instance, do any of you recall there being great intensity over how Bush was going to pay for his prescription drug bill? About how this was just the first step towards the Socialism trojan horse? About how wasteful the government is when Republicans had many years to address at least improving Medicare or attempting to eliminate it?
The high ground approach to bashing Bush now would have so much more traction if this opposition wasn't purely in retrospect.
