See, I told you September was too early to judge his Presidency. Apparently October is OK, just ask the Norwegians.

I'm waiting to see if 0bama EVER makes a decision. So far it's been a continual campaign and the associated lies and broken promises.

This Administration repeatedly blames Bush for all its problems, but never gives him credit for their policies.

If by "nothing", you mean letting unsound and corrupt businesses fail, then yes.
If by "nothing", you mean making sure that the US$ doesn't get debased, then yes.
If by "nothing", you mean giving money to sound businesses that spend their money wisely, and create jobs, instead of splurging on huge pay packages for corrupt CEOs that are in bed with DC, then yes.

The bailouts and tampering with wages and compensation is all unconstitutional. The TARP bill was JUST to buy up toxic loans. The 0bama admin has abused this and continues to ignore the constitution.

You don't think 0bama is having his strings pulled by others like Emmanuel, Pelosi, Reid, etc?

Coming from you, partisan pointlessness knows no bounds. You probably don't like it because it's true. Can you tell me how the Obama Administration has differed in its economic policy from Bush's economic policy? Yet, they insist on blaming Bush for the problems while continuing to use his solutions.

Well, for starters, the health care plan they are working on is supposed to be deficit neutral, unlike Bush's prescription bill thing...

Seriously, you can't believe this to be true.
First off, when has a government program *ever* been profitable or creating cost savings?
Secondly, were talking politicians saying they understand economy and economic issues better than anyone else. When has this ever been proven true?
Anyone believing that government healthcare will save a single dime is naive beyond help.
P.S. What i'm sayin is true for *all* politicians, no matter what party affiliation.

Why would it be naive? We're bleeding money like crazy with our current system, are you trying to say that this is simply inevitable?

No. I'm saying that more government involvement has never resulted in lower cost and better service. It's defying gravity to think so.

That's a very repetitive refrain, Turtle.
As long as the government is in the business of providing some sort of health care, be it our current Medicare or anything else, there is most certainly room for improvement in terms of our costs. Whether they can deliver on deficit neutralness, I don't know, but I appreciate the fact that they are trying (or at least paying lip service to the idea). This would be consistent with your desires too, short of abandoning government involvement in health care altogether which is not on the table right now.

All that nice, wishful thinking aside, the current proposal will achieve nothing in terms of making it any better. But i'll spare you the facts, you wouldn't believe it anyways.

Don't you realize they will hire sub-contractors?? The gov't folk you are paying for will just pass the paperwork to them. You've added another layer of admins that DON'T actually treat you. Do you even know how government really works?

The health care bill didn't pass, by the way. If anyone noticed. It is being reintroduced under a different bill, though.

If there's one thing I've learned about America, is that scientific theories don't mean anything. Trust me, defying gravity is not an issue.

You'll notice this is tangential to my point I made to ebuddy. What is it about my posts that have launch pad written all over them?

It's pretty cool how my posts are not only often launch pads into other rants that have very little to do with what I just said, but how often a single post can be a launch pad into totally separate rants!
Hey, at least I'm efficient that way.

Municipal power utilities have been significantly cheaper than when they were handed off to the private sector (remember Enron?). The same for water, sewage and garbage.

Um, no. All that hashappened so far is that a few bills have been approved by their respective committees, at least two that I am aware of in the Senate and one in the House. There has been no bill that "didn't pass" yet because none of the bills have gotten that far.
This "different bill" you refer to is the Senate leadership trying to reconcile their two bills.

Let's see if it gets whittled down to Bushcare by the time it's done. The only thing that produces tangible "funding" of any of this is the arrangement with PhRMA.

An eagle comes swooping down from the sky and snatches a mouse; swallows him whole. A while later, the mouse sticks its head out of the eagle's butt and asks, "How high up are we?"
"Oh, About 2000 feet." says the eagle.
The mouse replies, "You ain't sh*ttin' me, are you?"
