Barbara Boxer Top Democrat on the Senate Environmental and Public Works Committee,
said yesterday released emails from East Anglia Climate Research Center should be treated as crime.
I don't recall her ever calling on the New York Times for releasing highly classified documents despite presidential warnings of national security.

I'm sure hacking into someone's computer is a crime.

I'm sure what she meant to say was "I will trust the British to handle their own affairs and I, as an American politician, will mind my own business".

...or...Unfortunately for Boxer, this cache of info (email, data and computer code) wasn't stolen - it was compiled for the FOI requests this band of trolls were so actively refusing - and then placed on a public server at CRU. A whistleblower sent it to BBC over a month ago ( which was complicit in not reporting such, because of conflict of interest ) …you can see how well that worked out for him…and then reposted where it actually got the attention it deserved.

So all those hacking reports are false?

Just made up sh*t drummed up by the conservative media to sensationalize what appears to be nothing?

Kill the messenger. It's MUCH MORE important to piss away billions in tax dollars so she might get $ome of that under the table.

FOX news said the hackers and those who post the emails should go to prison.

The hackers are criminals.

I pray you are right, turtle, but as a Californian I have to say I'll believe it when I see it. She's been there so long (and Feinstein even longer) that I've pretty much lost hope she can be defeated.

I absolutely hate Boxer, but Fiorina isn't going to unseat her.

The key will be SoCal, because Fiorina is going to lose in the Bay Area. Fiorina was hated, and I mean HATED at HP. They employ a ton of people and those people ranted...a lot...while she was there. The local papers were less than kind also. Believe me, people there know and remember how awful she was as a CEO. The last thing I want to see is her as a US Senator. I'd rather keep Boxer.

I wonder what kind of smear tactics in the political ads they can do? perhaps her 'correcting the witness to call her "Senator" because she earned it, or maybe just her snotty comments that insult the regular people. They do have regular people in CA don't they?

It really makes Californians look stupid as heck if they keep Boxer.

But hey, it's your State, do as you wish. It's not like your State is in any sort of trouble.

Boxer was silent when Democrats where actively spying on Republicans, going as far as scanning cell phone transmissions and giving recordings to the New York Times to publish.

While the hacking may well be a crime, the attempts to thwart transparency and hide things fraudulently should be considered a crime as well. Has Boxer spoken out against that?

It is also considered a criminal act to thwart Freedom Of Information requests. And Why would Phil Jones, CRU, want to destroy data rather than honor an FOI request?

Are you saying we should arrest VP Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Pres. Bush, and the RNC for deleting hundreds of thousands of emails?

Would that justify hacking into government computers?

If not, why are you trying to justify a criminal act of computer hacking in this case?

You might ask the EPA, or the Clinton Administration too while you're at it.

No. But I do welcome whistleblowers who are protected under the law
