Seriously, WTF ?

Is this a joke ? Could this be any more obvious ?

That dude was caught in Pakistan in an airport.
Inside of the shoe was a battery, but no explosives.

He's an engineer, and that's all he could come up with ?

Somehow, I feel much safer now.

Shoe bombs don't kill people. Shoe bombers kill people.

I say let the market take care of it. If there's no demand the guy will stop making these shoes.

No. It's a conscious effort by the authorities to get you to submit to more rectal examinations.

Or it's a new medical device out on a test run.

The crime here is mixing leather, suede, and whitewall soles.

Dr. Scholls Exploding Gel Insoles with the convenient on-off switch. A few year ago, I would have suspected this was one of Terror-U's dropouts, but now it's probably one of their top graduates.

They're actually "massage shoes". Cheap third world massage shoes.

What kind of idiot would wear that kind of shoe at the airport ?

It's his own darn fault.

Now, don't get me started on the whole idea of message shoe. F*cking dumb.

It was either a diversion or an attempt to test the limits/availability of screening. That's all. Or an attempt to make people think that the threat isn't real. Hey, it worked!

Wait, so it's actually NOT an NSA plot to increase rectal exams?

I hope you didn't crank up the presses on a couple thousand newsletters before this was revealed.

The company seems to have gone out of business in 2008.

I really like the O/I switch.

If the Muslim Shoebombers were smart, they'd find some Nike or Reebok Pump shoes from 1992-1995 era and use those as triggers instead. They'd be less conspicuous that way!
