PG county executive caught taking bribes and destroying evidence.

Maryland official, wife hid money as FBI approached, affidavit says - CNN

I have family as a police captain over in PG, and I went to college at UMD (which is in PG). This. Sickens. Me. The man returned to work today, after posting bail. My tuition, living costs, and taxes were so high that I barely managed to graduate student loan free but with a year's worth of working to get my finances in order. But, knowing that this guy was stuffing his wife's bra with my money makes me want to see him jailed for the rest of his life.

Some of my friends from that time weren't so lucky and are saddled with debt to this day and for the next decade, struggling to find and keep jobs because of the piss poor management of our government, and this guy is flushing $100k checks down the toilet.

Does anyone else share these views with me? Does anyone else lose all compassion for those who abuse the powers we give to them? For every 1 thats caught, 5 more go unnoticed... Absolutely sickening.

I don't see why it's a big deal. Anyone in a position like that should be expecting to get some kickbacks. It's just part of the job. A little corruption and fraud makes the world go 'round.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

^sarcasm-meter broken?

A certified scumbag, for certain. I'm unclear why the judge who ordered him on monitoring trusts him to stay on the job and not to tamper with evidence, considering what they've caught him doing already. If they want him to serve out his term he's being paid for, perhaps community service cleaning up parks would be better. Maybe they're hoping if they give him enough leash he'll continue to hang himself?

He got caught, which just means he's incompetent. You need to vote for politicians who can steal money without getting caught. Ted Stevens went over 30 years before he was caught.

True.

Though, you could be so good that even when you get caught, you can keep on doing it. The Clinton's never let getting caught with their hands in their cookie jar stop them. Neither has loony Al "no controlling legal authority" Gore who still is making a killing defrauding people with his global warming con.

He should be made to pay every cent he made as a public servant back. Whats obvious though, is he should go to prison for a long, long time.

I don't know of any money funny-business Carter has been involved with. Feel free to enlighten me. The Clinton stuff was front page news though and all the while they were stealing from senior citizens with kooky land deals and taking money from the far east and buddhist monks, Bill Clinton's approval numbers rose. I don't know of anyone else who has ever been able to manage that, and I sincerely believe that it took real talent.

^^^^

Forty years from now, you'll still be blabbering on about the Clintons as if they're the only ones who did something you think was illegal.

Whether they are the only or not is no justification for any abuses of office. This isn't the first time I've heard "business as usual" and "they all do it" as justification, or at least mitigation of offenses. How can one champion larger government without even ensuring, nay - freely admitting the dishonesty of the one we already have?

Because fools think all the dishonesty is being done on their behalf. Now mind you, they can never show where their worshiped Big Government has ever actually done anything for them, but you see, given enough power and enough of everyone else's money... ONE DAY they will.

Supposedly.

They aren't the only ones who I think has done something illegal. I specifically outlined what I thought was special about them, and it wasn't that they did illegal things.

All those with power are afraid to lose it. Even the Rangel.
