Down goes Bunny! Down goes Bunny!

Anyone else find this a bit odd?

Actually, "douchey" is what comes to mind.

Well, I look at this a couple of ways:

1. If google usually celebrates Easter, then I don't see the big deal. Unless you think they're not allowed to take a year off.

2. If google has never celebrated Easter, then while I can see why this years selection may ruffle your feathers, that's more timing than intent.

Some of our good friends on the right are prone to getting their panties all in a bunch over the most trivial things. And it's especially amusing when it's clear from comments all over the internet just how deep the cluelessness goes. All those who didn't know the difference between Cesar Chavez and Hugo Chavez and then decided to put their ignorance on public display really ought to re-examine their priorities in life.

Does anyone know the answer?

I'm assuming they have celebrated Easter simply because it's an easy idea to doodle.

On TWiT (which you watch) they seemed to imply google stays clear of religious holidays (exception to xmas)

On TWiT, which you watch, you know they often have no ****ing idea of what they're talking about unless Merritt's there.

I vaguely remember Hanukkah.

Isn't there a site that aggregates their special banners? It would be there, if it existed.

Doodles

Command-F found no Easter 2012-2007

In short, more Christian persecution complex.

Edit: Found one

2000.

I found an Easter through GIS.

Hanukkah was one of the Easter (heh) eggs where if you searched for it you got a special banner.

It's definitely notable they haven't been doing it for awhile, however I don't know how much this is persecution complex for me. I'm not Christian.

Honestly, there's a bit of the Streisand effect going on. I wouldn't have noticed if they didn't put up a doodle which required investigation to see what it represented.

2000.
I imagine Google has chosen not to do a lot of religious oriented holidays just to avoid just the type of stupidity that ensued this weekend. Can't say that I blame them.

I think I'm exaggerating. Outside of a few nutters on twitter, this likely reeks of news orgs trolling for a story.

I feel the majority of google doodles are obscure Usually celebrating scientists and explorers from what I recall.
