Shots fired, maybe only by security, police car demolished, officer injured (not sure how), car crashed in median, suspect in custody, possible kid in the car, little damage to car.

I, for one, have a strong opinion on gun control and I believe it should be hashed out right here, right now.

It says "from the White House", was it Michelle Obama?

We should require a background check before buying dangerous sports cars.

This is an object lesson on why you shouldn't drink used motor oil before driving.

All kidding aside, reports indicate that the woman was suffering from postpartum depression. That's a very different type of mental illness from the more typical depression (which is purported to be the most underdiagnosed illness in the U.S., mental or medical). Her neighbors, when asked if she had mental illness, said something like "oh yes!" If we don't start taking mental illness more seriously, we're going to find ourselves both locked down and all of us over-diagnosed by everyone other than medical professionals.

I'm still unclear on whether she rammed the White House gates on purpose or accidentally hit them and then freaked out.

I know she was acting crazy, but it still seems sad they had to kill her. Sounds like she'd been living a downward spiral for some time.

She thought Obama was stalking her (insert NSA joke here). Practically surprised she didn't think it was his baby.

The pictures of that are pretty surreal.

It's like the Buddhist monk, except with joggers.

Penn Jilette has a "funny" story about someone lighting themselves on fire, which he saw happen when he was at college, and files under "worst ways to die".

I won't be able to spin the tale the way Penn can, so I'll cut to the "punch-line".

Having lit yourself on fire isn't the worst way to die. The worst way to die is lighting yourself on fire, changing your mind as you burn, jumping into a fountain to put yourself out, and still dying from your burns.

IOW, you wuss out on your big protest and everybody knows it, but you die anyway.
