Mail: Highlight text within an email.?
There is a workaround to get this done when composing a new e-mail.

Now, what I want to achieve is being able to highlight text within incoming e-mails and RSS articles I receive on a daily basis. I have found no way to do this.

I am still looking for a way to do this. I've tried MailTags, which is nice and adds some great features to Mail, but not this particular one.

Thank you and welcome to MacNN. It is interesting that Outlook is able to do that. I should have stated that I use Apple's Mail, my fault.

Spoke to soon. Outlook (Mac) can not highlight text on incoming e-mails, just when replying to/composing new e-mails.

Same with Outlook for Windows.

James must have misunderstood your intentions.

I'm not sure if this might help you? Set Up Apple Mail Rules

Depending on your system: it's being used to highlight text (headers) on incoming email in Mail using automator.

Thanks. Highlighting the headers is not my purpose here, though. I guess what I want to achieve would imply modifying the original e-mail being addressed to you, and that might come with legal implications. So far I am looking only to be able to highlight sections of the body of a given e-mail message / RSS article.
