Source Clips Missing in iMovie

I have made about 10 videos using iMovie, and i must have accidentally deleted my source clips from my internal hard drive. I can find all my iMovie projects and events on my external, but I don't know how to import the videos back into iMovie so the source clips are present and the movies work again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the source video is gone and you don't have a backup (you do have a backup, right?), I don't think there's much you can do. In older versions of iMovie, you could right-click the iMovie project file and select Show Package Contents and you could find the clips in there. I don't know if recent versions do this as well.

yeah I do have a back up, but for some reason it still doesn't recognize the source clips from the back up. I'll check when I get home and get back to you. Thanks.
