Schrödinger's Podcast
Not a new problem, but I figured I'd toss it out there in case my google fu wasn't up to par.

The situation is fairly straightforward. Have my iPod set to sync all new podcasts. Podcasts I finish remain on it for two weeks (courtesy of the "Recently Played" playlist. Should I not finish a rather long podcast, however, it enters some nebulous void, and being neither unplayed nor played, it disappears from my iPod, never to return.

My current solution is to either mark as unplayed and either start from the beginning or fast forward to some random time interval I think is roughly appropriate (Or in extreme cases, listen on my Desktop where they're downloaded). All these solutions suck. Any options?

I'm no help, I manually control my podcasts.

I'm more like God, I set the parameters and expect everything to work like clockwork.
