Outlook 2001 will not open

My Outlook will not open, it brings the opening window up and takes my password, but then just hangs there. I have to admit, I'm no expert on Networks, and such, I kind of fumble around and learn as I go.
I'm not sure if it's the exchange server or my computer. When is it time to call the experts in?

Have you tried trashing it's preference file? I remember Outlook Express crashing on startup, and trashing it's preference file did the trick.
Instead of trashing the file, maybe move it to your deskop and see if that works. If it still doesn't startup, at least you've got your old preferences.
