AAC support for OS 9

egads!!!

Any way to play AAC files under OS 9?

I want to play my iTunes library stored on my OS X running G4 MDD over the network on an old PowerMac G3 running 9.2 on the other side of the house. iTunes 2.0.4 on OS9 will index and play all of the MP3 files, but won't even add the AAC files to the library. Is there a plugin for iTunes 2, or another app that plays AACs???

I think you are out of luck...sorry. One side of your house will have to be an MP3 only zone.

Uhm, what about Quicktime 6.0.3? I'm on Mac OS 9.2.2 and I've got AAC support in QT 6.

I have quicktime 6.0.2 on Mac OS 9.1 and it has an AAC codec too. But I don't think it can play the protected AAC files that iTunes Music Store uses.

When I installed iTunes 4 on my OS X machines, it required a simultaneous update to Quicktime to enable ITMS AAC support.
