Best way to upgrade Mac OS 9.1 to OS 9.2.2?
I have a Mac 7300/400 MHZ that works flawlessly with Mac OS 9.1, but I would like to upgrade to Mac OS 9.2.2. What would be the best way to perform an installation without having to reinstall all the preferences, extensions, etc. for the existing software (Office, Appleworks, and other non-Apple software?

Thanks!

You can't. Mac OS 9.2 is only for OS X capable Macs.

Check out this program. It appears your 7300 is supported by the program, but you'll have to check out if your CPU upgrade is.

bradoesch:

I am not sure if my Sonnet 400MHz/1MB will run under 9.2.2, but the Mac 7300 along most older Mac's is compatible as long as the installation is performed with OS9 Helper. I am going to give it a try.

Thank you very much for your answer, and for the link to OS9 Helper.
