mac os 9 driver development?
hi
can anybody tell me where can i find the source code of the mac OS 9?also name of the toolkit to develop device drivers for mac OS 9?
I also need to know the architectural differences between mac os 9 and mac os 10.
also can anybody tell the steps in driver development for mac os 9?

Wow, hmmm. OS 9 is not open source. The main technical reference for the classic Mac OS is a series called Inside Macintosh. But they are dated books. There are still references to them in older technical guides found on Apple's Developer pages. You may want to take a look at this Mac OS 8 and 9 Development page.

i need to write a device driver for pci devices on mac os 9 and need to know some more details about the OS. so are there any other sources from where i can know detailed structure of the mac os 9( internal details) other then the one u mentioned( inside macintosh) . i would like to know if there are any free ebooks available for the same?
are you aware of any driver development tools for mac os 9?
