Batch Rename items in a folder...
Here's my dilemma... Periodically, I get my film processed onto a PhotoCD. I want to copy those pictures into my Pictures folder so that OS X can use them for a screen saver slide show. Unfortunately, the pictures are always given the same name. So, right now I have to manually change the name of every picture in the folder before copying them, or else it will overwrite the last batch of pictures.

Is there a program that will let me automate renaming of every file in a folder? For example, I'd like to append the date of processing to each picture.

Thanks!

I used to use Chaotic Software's DropRename and DropAttribute in the olden days to do batch file changes. It looks like they may have merged them into one program called Manipulator (http://www.chaoticsoftware.com/ProductPages/Manipulator.html). Not sure if it runs in Classic as DropRename doesn't seem to work correctly anymore.
