9.2 won't play audio CDs
machine is an indigo iMac, running 9.2.2.

the problem occurs every couple of days, basically the computer stops playing audio CDs, when i click play in Audio CD Player or using the CSM nothing happens, the CD is stuck on pause. i've tried ejecting the CD and reinserting a few times (and trying different CDs but the problem persists.

SoundJam still can play the CD though but it takes up some CPU overhead so i prefer to reboot the computer, everything is fine then.

has anyone had a problem like this? it may be something to do with putting CD-Rs in the drive, i notice that its fine until i put in a data CD-R but later on will stop playing audio CDs.

Try unistalling Itunes if you have it loaded. I heard that it was built on the same 'engine" as SoundJam - in faCT, IF YOU CHECK OUT THE SJ WEBSITE, they have stopped working on things to concentrate on Apple "jukebox" (or something like that).

Anyway... You may have a conflict and getting rid of SJ or iTunes will probably remedy your problem. Make sure you trash the prog preferences too.
