iTunes control strip module is wacked
every time i try launching iTunes from the control strip module, it give me an error that says "this version of iTunes is for MacOSX only. i have OSX and 9 installed on the same partition. i rebuilt the desktop earlier today.
ive tried... -deleting preferences. -reinstalling iTunes -removing every ttrace of iTunes for OS9 and reinstalling ...all to no avail. help ? Thanks. |
I had similar problems with the iTunes control Strip, assuming iTunes is working fine otherwise you could just assign a Hot Key to it I am partitial to Opt + F4. It would be faster then the control strip. Just an opinion. Best of luck

You're not alone, I have the same problem. I just launch it by other means now.

There is a solution. Use ResEdit to change the creator code of the iTunes application located at <Macintosh HD:Applications:iTunes.app:Contents:Mac OS> from 'hook' to '????'. This makes the system find the copy of OS 9 iTunes, and will not affect iTunes in OS X, as far as I can tell. Of couse, perform at your own risk, but it did work for me. I think this problem results from rebuilding the OS 9 desktop from OS X using the Classic Prefs. panel, but I'm not sure. Best of luck.
