Sherlock 2, how to set just one default drive?
I have a PowerBook G3 (FireWire) with OS 9.0.4 with a 30gig drive in three partitions. What I want to be able to do is just set one partition as the default search on and leave the two other partitions unchecked. I had it working this way for many days, but then all of a sudden it goes back to wanting to search all partitions. It's not a really big deal, but it's a nice to have. Anyone know how to do this?

Hi madgreek,

I'm not sure whether this will apply to multi-partioned disks, but here's a general tip for getting selections in Sherlock2's Files channel to "stick" across launches:- In the Files channel, check off the volumes or dragged-in folders that you want to be selected by default, then switch to some other channel (e.g., the Internet channel), and then quit Sherlock2. [Occasionally, it might also be necessary to switch back to the Files channel before quitting Sherlock2.]

I do not know if this quirky behaviour of Sherlock2 is a bug or a feature ;-), or if it affects all system configurations, but the above method always works on my older beige PowerMac G3 with one (non-partitioned) disk, running Mac OS 9.0.4 with Multiple Users enabled.
