Apple System Profiler/Sonnet G3 CPU
I upgraded my PM8500 with a Sonnet Crecendo G3 300/1MB card recently. It runs fine, but the Apple System Profiler doesn't recognise the 1MB secondary cache. Sonnet told me to use their Metronome profiler (which I think gets installed when the Crescendo software is installed). Sure enough, the 1MB secondary cache was their, but is there some other way I can check if that secondary cache is really there or not. I'd just like third party confirmation that it really exists, even though the upgrade has boosted the machine speed without doubt.

Use Norton's Utility, under tools.....system information and the L2 cache, processor speed, memory, etc, should be there.

Many thanks for the quick replies. I downloaded MacBench and can report that Sonnet sell their products advertised. Although the report does suggest that an upgrade card is not as good as an original (but I knew that anyway, and an upgrade is cheaper than a buying a whole new G3).

Thanks again.
