locking the screen manually

i was wondering if anyone knows of any way to manually lock the screen under OS9. i would like to be able to lock the screen when i leave the room, but do not necessarily want to logout, b/c i want to keep certain applications open and working (servers, etc.) while i am away but do not want people snooping.

also is there a way to blank the screen when the computer screen is locked?

There is a freeware screensaver-type utility called MacDim that has password protection. I don't know how secure it is, but it will at least deter snoopers. Check for it at, I think you can find it there. You don't have to invoke screensavers if you don't want, and a hot key will "sleep" your screen. It's cool

MacArmyKnife also does this. Im not sure of its address...
Search for it and you'll find it.
