Mac OS 8.6 hangs on internet connection
I have a beige G3 300 MT. I run primarily a clean system with few third party extensions. I have internet access through ADSL through BellSouth.net. After I installed 8.6, my system runs fine for about 10-15 minutes. Whenever, the mail client (OE 4.5) checks for mail it hangs. I have to force quit the application. Then my connection to the internet is so "hosed" that my browser won't work. This affects all applications as well. Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc. I have to soft boot my system to have it work only for another 10-15 minutes before it crashes again. I have tried clean installs, zapping PRAM before and after installation. Taking the system back down to 8.5.1 solves all of the problems. Anybody have a clue. FYI I have been an Apple Certified Tech for over seven years. Thanks in advance for any help.

Boris_Mann has similar problems and he thinks it might be caused by some MS shared libraries that are conflicting. Also, do you have the Apple Remote Access (ARA) update installed? I would definately make sure you did that. You can find it at:

Good luck,
