Power Supply for 7600/132
Hi,

Hopefully, someone can help me out.

I have a 7600/132 that has a very noisy fan in the power supply. Is it possible and safe to swap it with the power supply from a 7300/200? The cables are not *exactly* the same but it seems like they would be compatable.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks,

Pat

Unfortunately, no...the power supplies are not interchangeable. The 7300 machine has a 24-pin connection to the logic board and the 7600 is a 22-pin connection.

You may be better off going to Radio Shack and finding a replacement cooling fan. Just remove the fan from the PS, take it with you, and get a compatible replacement.

Thanks for the info. I will try to get over to Radio Shack to see it they can replace it. If not, I will have to get a used power supply somewhere.

Thanks again.
